National Institute of Medical Herbalists
The National Institute of Medical Herbalists (est. 1864) is the oldest professional body of Medical Herbalists in existence. To qualify, practitioners must complete a four year course covering the full range of medical and botanical sciences, a minimum of 500 hours clinical training and rigorous written and clinical examinations. Members carry the letters MNIMH or FNIMH after their name.
Sally Owen MNIMH
Consultant Medical Herbalist
Lives on a smallholding near Builth Wells, Mid-Wales in the UK and practices there in the Rock Park Spa Complementary Medicine Center. She also practices at the Brecon Complementary Medicine Center. Sally has lived in the area since 1973, having been brought up near Abergavenny, and has prepared ointments and oils under the name of Hedgehog Herbs since 1975. Sally is also an authority on local varieties of wild and cultivated herbs.
